Final Part 1 and 2

Class Evaluation
Part 1
1: What I like about this class is that it's easy and I learn a lot about life and careers. I also like that we get to use computers to do our work.
-            What I dislike about this class is that the music is so boring. Trap music should be on sometimes.  We should pick what we want to write about.

2: To improve the class in my perspective, we should listen different types of music and work on other things other than statements and careers.

3: I did my best in this class because it's really easy and I like typing.

4: I am committed to be a CTR person because you get to be a better person. It teaches you about life a lot and it makes me feel good.

IDP

IDP Showcase

My IDP experience this fall was great. I think that since I did it twice last year I'm kind of used to it. I actually remembered my lines. My teammates did well. I think i did good because i followed all the tips Ms.Pinto gave me.  Overall i think i did good because my partners also kind of worked well with me. I think that to make ours better we would have had to memorize our cards and not be so nervous. I think that for my group members being quiet and shy affected them in this IDP because the pannel couldn't hear them well.

CTR // Mark Twain

"Always do right"
-Mark Twain
Reflection: This statement might be short but it definitely explains a lot to me. To be successful in life you must do good. If you keep choosing the wrong, it affects your life because you're not getting closer to a goal. When you choose the right pathway to success it makes your life better. Obstacles may come you way but you need to try hard to manage your choices right. For example, it's finals week and Alexa needs to study. Her friend Andrew calls her to go to a party and drink. She knows whats best for her and her future so she declines the invitation. She knows she would rather be having fun partying but she knows staying home and studying will lead her to a great life in the future. I would say that no matter what you need to sacrifice, choose the right thing.

Evan Stephens

"If we do what's right, we have no need to fear."
-Evan Stephens
Reflection: I totally agree with with Evan Stephens because his statement is relatable to young people. Especially teens because sometimes we think that we might get away with something. I think that when i don't do the right thing, I fear a lot because when I do something that is not right I feel really guilty.  An example of this would be like if Sandy is going on a field trip and she tries to take alcohol and she knows she will be caught. She if fearing because she knows she did something wrong. When you do something right you know that  you're doing good and you feel good. A good example is that Alexa does all her homework and all her classwork and she gets good grades, she has nothing to worry about because shes doing good in school and it will bring good to her.

The 3 Questions

1. Can people trust me to do what's right?
2. Am I committed to doing my very best?
3. Do I treat people the way I want to be treated?
"If the answers to these questions are YES, there is no way you can fail."
- Lou Holtz

Reflection: I would agree with Lou Holtz because he's basically saying that to do right you must be a good person. I think if i were to answer these three questions i honestly would only answer 2 as YES. I think to be become successful you would have to have all these on you because it makes you think about what you can to do to make your life better. I think that if you put your mind into something and you want to be successful then you must know to how to be responsible for yourself. I think that these three questions are really important because  they teach you to do whats right and to not commit to anything you aren't sure you could handle or be responsible for. I would only get the first two right because if someone

Physical Fitness

"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys in a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong."

Places

Brazil
I would want to go to Brazil because it seems like a great place to be. There's beautiful beaches and buildings look so amazing! I seen there's great food and it makes you just want to go there. Food such as Feijoada and Moqueca and fried bar snacks. I think going to a different place in the world is such a great experience because you get to see the world outside of your comfort zone. I think that by studying and just looking at other type of people you get to learn a lot about the world. You get to see how people are and the differences between you and them. I'd like to learn about their history. Overall it just seems like a great place to go for a little vacation. Hopefully i get to go sometime soon because i'd really like to explore the world.

Kindness

"Kindness is the essence of greatness."
-Joseph B. Wirthlin
Reflection: I strongly agree with Joseph B. Wirthlin because being kind makes someone a good person. Let's say Andrew is a great athlete, a good basketball player but he's not kind at all, and hes always making fun of other players. That doesn't make him a good person.

Thanksgiving Week

Thanksgiving Week
My thanksgiving week felt so long. I stayed home most days to do homework because Mr. Garcia left like 5 PDF files for homework and each had like 30 math problems. On the days I went out with family or friends, I went to Santa Monica Pier and lots of parks and parties. I got on a lot of rides. It was fun I guess. On thanksgiving most of my family came over to eat. My cousins and i played games and hung out most of the time. It was pretty great spending time with my family and eating. I ATE A LOT OF FOOD. There was so much food left over so My family and i ate that on Saturday. On Friday, I went out with my friend to chill. I didnt go to black friday cus i didnt want to see andrew. jk its because i don't want to die. I WATCHED PAPER TOWNS AGAINNNNN! and i got mad again because the end is so not how it should of gone! Overall, my thanksgiving week was so good. The only thing I didn't                                         like was that it felt so long that this morning when i woke up, i had forgotten                                         what I do on school mornings.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a holiday for giving thanks for the year and the preceding year. It is celebrated in Canada and the United States and some other parts of the world like Japan, The Norfolk Islands, Liberia and the Netherlands. The first thanksgiving was celebrated in Plymoth Rock, Massachusetts in 1621. Thanksgiving is The fourth Thursday in November. There is many different traditions and almost everyone eats turkey. Chick Moorman

"Doing what is right, fair and honorable is more important than winning or losing."
-Chick Moorman
I agree with Chick Moorman because i can relate to this statement. I think what he's trying to say is that it doesn't matter if you lose or win, what matters is that you played it right fair. I think that honorable in this statement means that when you need to play it right and people will honor you and appreciate how you played. An example of this would be Andrew is playing basketball and he's not playing right because he wants to win. He starts traveling and running without bouncing the ball. He tips another kid so he doesn't score. At the end of the game his team wins but he feels guilty because he knows he played wrong that night. Another example of this would be Jenny

Integrity

There are the 3 magic keys to living your life with integrity:
1. Have the courage to say no.
2. Have the courage to face the truth.
3. Do the right thing because it is right.         - W. Clement Stone

I totally agree with this statement because you have to learn to say no to something that will do bad to you or to others. Hanging around with bad influences might lead them to ask you to do something bad with them. From there you have to learn to say no to things you know are wrong. You also have to have the courage to face the truth. Say the truth no matter how hard, it will always make you feel relieved that you're not lying. If you got a fail in your geometry test and you lie to your parents, it will get you in more trouble than it would if you just told the truth. You have to do the right thing not only because it's right but because living with integrity is much better than living with fear or getting caught or feeling guilty for doing something that was not right at all. Knowing how to do these things will make you live your life peacefully and happy. Be responsible for how you act and do the right thing.

Veterans Day

Veterans Day!
What is veterans day : veterans day is a holiday on the anniversary  of the end of the World War I to honor US veterans and victims of all wars. It replaced Armistice Day in 1954.
When is it: November 11
What is the purpose of veterans day: To honor all the US veterans and the victims of the wars.
Why is it important to show honor to veterans on veterans day: it is important because a lot of them died to save our country.

I think that it takes a lot of effort and time to actually fight against other people knowing you could be killed. WISE

"He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed"
-Proverbs 13:20
This statement is saying that you future also depends on the people you hang around with. You must have good influences so your future is good. People who do good and have bright futures are the type of people you would want to be around with. Who you hang out with will determine how you future will look like. For example: if you hang around a group of good people who dont ditch school, get good grades, don't do drugs most likely you will achieve more in life because they will influence you to do the same. On the other hand, if you hang around people who smoke, ditch, steal, or aren't trying to be Successful in life, the same will happen to you because you hang around them so much you start catching they hobbies and bad decisions. Choose the right and hang out with people that will be good for you and avoid people who will destroy you. An example would be if a girl starts hanging out with bad influences and shes suddenly starts acting like them. She starts to smoke, she drinks, and ditches class. The cops catch her one day and she is arrested. After that she starts hanging out with good people and she becomes a better smarter person. Her grades go up and she graduates. Do what is right not what is easy.

Recreation// CTR

"The Best Recreation is to Do Good"
-William Penn
I think that William Penn is trying to say that something to do is to do good. If you do something do it the best make sure it's a good thing. Doing something good makes your like for enjoyable. Do the right thing and you will feel free and happy. You won't feel guilty if you did a good thing. When you do the right thing you feel good. Don't do something wrong just because everyone is doing it. But also don't miss out on doing the right thing just because everyone is against it,.An example is when you chew gum in class. That would be a wrong thing because some teachers don't allow it. If you chew gum just because everyone is chewing it does not make it right. Doing your Homework at home is the right thing. Just because everyone does it in class will not make doing it at home wrong. Don't follow what others do. Live for yourself. CTR!!

"Right is right, even if everyone is against it; And wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it"
-William Penn
What William Penn is trying to say is that if something is wrong, and everyone is doing it, will not make it right. When something is wrong nothing will make it wrong, not even everyone going for it. I think that when something is right, you should do it, even if everyone is against it because at the end you're gonna be the one with success for choosing the right. An example of this would be if you go to a party and everyone is doing drugs. Doing drugs would be the wrong thing and everyone is doing it. Just because everyone is doing drugs does not mean you should too. You should be the one saying no to drugs. Even if you stand alone in it. Don't follow somebody else's pathway. Be a leader, not a follower.

Peter Vidmar

"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now. Write down what you want most and see it often."
-Peter Vidmar
Reflection: I think that Peter Vidmar is trying to say that don't put things you want at the moment before things you've wanted for the longest and that you want the most. I think that people should stick to the thing they want the most, because if you get what you want now, your chances on getting what you really wanted will be ruined. For example, all you wanted was to graduate from High School and make your parents proud and get a good career, suddenly the newest iPhone 6s Plus comes out and you want it. You buy the phone. You get distracted by being on your phone everyday. You want what you want now to be what you want more.

"A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches."

-Proverbs 22:1

Being a good person and having people knowing it is better than having great riches. I agree with this because  you could also be rich from knowledge and love not just from money and fancy things like houses. It's not that great riches aren't good, but you have to want something other than that. You would rather have other people knowing you're doing something good with your life. I would rather be remembered by how I am than what I have and don't have. For example, if an old lady asks for a favor, you wouldn't ask for money or something in return, you would do it with no money in mind because that is your character and it would be the right thing to do.

CTR/Make a stand.

"If your so-called friends urge you to do anything you know to be wrong, you be the one to make a stand for right, even if you stand alone. Have the moral courage to be a light for others to follow."
-Thomas S. Monson.
This quote means a lot to me because I can strongly agree with it. You stand up for what you believe and what is right. Don't let your friends tell you what to do if you think it's bad. For example, If your so called friends ask you to hang out with them and smoke, you say no because you know that smoking is bad for you and you shouldn't even be smoking at your age. Even if you're the only one standing up for them, it is worth it because you know you won't be doing the wrong thing. You explain to them why you shouldn't smoke and you tell them to do something else. You have to be an example towards them so they could stop smoking. Choose The Right and guide them to something good for their bodies. It's kind of being a good leader so other people could follow the examples you give them. Be a leader not a follower and choose the right.

Success

"Success is not an accident. Success is actually a choice. Are the habits you have today on par with the dreams you have of tomorrow?"
-Alan Stein
Reflection: I think this quote means that you just don't get success out of nowhere like it was a mistake. I think that when you want success you have to make the CHOICE to follow your dreams/goals. You choose what to do to earn success and be successfully. For example: if you want to get straight A's on your report card, you'd have to work on it. You won't just magically get good grades. You have to make the choice to actually do your work and turn it in on time. If you're slacking off then how do you expect to get good grades in the future? Success is not an accident and you have to work hard to get what you want and truly deserve it. It's kind of choosing the right, where you do the right things to get to your goal. If you do the wrong things you're not getting any close to what you're planning on achieving.

Obedience

"When obedience becomes our goal, it is no longer an irritation; instead of a stumbling block, it becomes a building block."
-James E. Faust
Reflection: I strongly agree with this quote by James E. Faust. I think that when you set your mind to something it becomes a building block meaning you learn to try and push yourself to achieve it. We try to be as obedient as we can because we know that it is the right thing to do. Being obedient would mean doing what your teacher, parents, boss, and others tell you to do. You might not like to , but when obedient is set in your mind, you become used to it and you no longer think bad about it, you know that it's what you're supposed to do. For example, your parents tell you to wash dishes, instead of yelling at them or making faces, you should just get up and do it. When you're obedient you're growing as a person by being responsible and doing what you're assigned to do.

Student Success Statement

"True wealth is of the heart, not of the purse."

Pathros.
Patriach of Antioch & all the east 1846 - '94

Reflection: I think this quote means that there's two types of wealth, money wealth and wealth of the heart, and that the wealth of the heart is more important because what matters the most is what you feel and how you are as a person that makes you wealthy. You could have a lot of fine things but your personality and character could be a complete mess so you're not wealthy from the inside, and you could have no money at all but you might have a great amazing personality and character and kind so that makes you wealthy at heart.

Feel Right

"You cannot do wrong and feel right. It is impossible."

Erza T. Benson

Reflection: I think this quote is saying no matter what wrong thing you do, you will not feel good about it. You will always feel guilty or ashamed of what you did you can feel good when you do something good. For example, if you did something bad but you tell the truth about it, you won't feel as bad because you did the right thing and told the truth. I think that no matter how hard it is to tell the truth about something bad you did, it's all worth it because you're doing the right there.

Abraham Lincoln

"When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad"
-Abraham Lincoln

I think Abraham Lincoln is trying to say that your emotions/feelings relate to what you've done. When you do something positive you're going to feel really good about yourself. I think that when you do something bad you start feeling bad or guilty for what you've done. Doing your homework everyday is an example of doing something good. When you're done with your homework for the day, you start feeling relaxed and satisfied. An example of doing bad would be like if you ever chose the wrong and did something like stole someone's purse, you might feel good at that moment but overtime you start feeling really guilty for what you've done. You start to realize what you've done and know that that's wrong.

You do something positive you get something positive back.

If you work hard in your education it means you will have success and achieve many things in your life.

I think I wouldn’t like to be an audiologist because I’m not really into ears. Im more interested in other parts of the body. But it sounds like a cool job to help others solve their ear problems.

Decisions Determine Destiny

Decisions

" Decisions Determine Destiny "
I think this quote means that you have to make a choice and be committed to it to actually reach your goals. Stay true to what you want and be determined to achieve it.
For example, if you want to pass all of your classes you would have to make a decision about what you want and how you could accomplish it. If you're really determined to do that then you will reach you goals (destiny).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Acupuncture can treat everyone not just someone who is ill or has some type of medical condition. Acupuncturists have to be very careful to target body parts with needles. They need to reduce pain with the needles and give our more energy for the body.

Salary:

$41,100 - $144,380

Acupuncturists have to be trained in anatomy, physiology and other science and medical courses. They’re also trained to know where to place the needles and how it would affect the tissues there. Takes about four years to complete. You would also need a masters degree.

Reflection: do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

I think I would be interested to try this but I feel like its hard work to find where to put the needles. I would much rather have this treatment done on me. Over all I don’t think think this would be a good career for me because I’m a nervous person and I might mess up while putting the needles in.
