Student Success Statement

"True wealth is of the heart, not of the purse."

Pathros.
Patriach of Antioch & all the east 1846 - '94

Reflection: I think this quote means that there's two types of wealth, money wealth and wealth of the heart, and that the wealth of the heart is more important because what matters the most is what you feel and how you are as a person that makes you wealthy. You could have a lot of fine things but your personality and character could be a complete mess so you're not wealthy from the inside, and you could have no money at all but you might have a great amazing personality and character and kind so that makes you wealthy at heart.

Feel Right

"You cannot do wrong and feel right. It is impossible."

Erza T. Benson

Reflection: I think this quote is saying no matter what wrong thing you do, you will not feel good about it. You will always feel guilty or ashamed of what you did you can feel good when you do something good. For example, if you did something bad but you tell the truth about it, you won't feel as bad because you did the right thing and told the truth. I think that no matter how hard it is to tell the truth about something bad you did, it's all worth it because you're doing the right there.

Abraham Lincoln

"When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad"
-Abraham Lincoln

I think Abraham Lincoln is trying to say that your emotions/feelings relate to what you've done. When you do something positive you're going to feel really good about yourself. I think that when you do something bad you start feeling bad or guilty for what you've done. Doing your homework everyday is an example of doing something good. When you're done with your homework for the day, you start feeling relaxed and satisfied. An example of doing bad would be like if you ever chose the wrong and did something like stole someone's purse, you might feel good at that moment but overtime you start feeling really guilty for what you've done. You start to realize what you've done and know that that's wrong.

You do something positive you get something positive back.

Decisions Determine Destiny

Decisions

" Decisions Determine Destiny "
I think this quote means that you have to make a choice and be committed to it to actually reach your goals. Stay true to what you want and be determined to achieve it.
For example, if you want to pass all of your classes you would have to make a decision about what you want and how you could accomplish it. If you're really determined to do that then you will reach you goals (destiny).
